Neil: On we go enjoying rural Slovakia.Travelling on roads a bit today . The dykes are lovely but give you no idea of how people live . Lots of small bungalows and very quiet villages and difficult names to pronounce.
Cyclists always talk about the weather! Suddenly we have wind , strong wind from the north west . We are going east where we would eventually reach Ukraine . When we have the wind behind we feel superhuman.
In trying to avoid a gravel track we end up on a huge trunk road with huge lorries . A pretty nerve racking 7km with buffeting wind . We get back to dykes !
I learn that Slovakia makes more cars per capita than any other country in the world. They have 9 languages and an alphabet of 40 !
We keep meeting fellow cyclists which we bump into . Last couple of days we have shared a few beers with and Aussie and a German in their 60’s . They have been friends for 20 years . I had better get down stairs and join them !
